In my first post I discussed a clandestine NSA research article from the 1970's that covered possible ways to communicate with alien intelligence. Methods described included using encoded bitmap images or symbols to teach a common language using math.

In this post I will dive into some thoughts and examples about alternative ways to chat with my alien friends using just color or musical tones.

As a recap, the image below is an example of "inverse cryptography" as described in the NSA article. The premise is that arbitrary symbols can be arranged in a set of intuitive sequences to teach mathematical concepts which then ultimately build to formulas and word groupings.

Math is used because number is thought to be a universally understood concept. A layered approach like this could be used to find a common ground for the development of a mutually understood "language".
