The controversial world of extrasensory perception (ESP) has long been a topic of debate. With all the studies done, few have examined it from the lens of environmental factors. An interesting connection has recently been made between ESP and geomagnetic activity (GMA).
What if there was a scientific connection between your ability to sense information beyond normal means—like extrasensory perception (ESP)—based on the position of the stars?

Entrain your brain! How to create your own binaural beats for free using open source software.
In my previous article, I discussed binaural beats - an auditory illusion created when two slightly different frequencies are played in each ear, producing a perception of a third sound—a rhythmic beat.
Advocates of binaural beats suggest that they can help synchronize brainwave activity, promoting mental states like alpha, beta, theta, and delta waves, which are associated with various cognitive and emotional states. Some even claim that by listening you can achieve altered states of consciousness including out-of-body experiences.
In this article I'm going to show you how to create your own custom binaural beats mp3s for free by using popular open source software. The advantage to creating your own is that you have free reign to completely customize based on your own research and objectives. You can alter the length, the frequency, sweep across multiple frequencies, overlay with other sounds, music and more.
Here's a recap of the different brainwave bands and their associated frequencies:
Delta waves: 0.5 - 4 Hz
Theta waves: 4 - 8 Hz
Alpha waves: 8 - 13 Hz
Beta waves: 13 - 30 Hz
Gamma waves: 30 - 100 Hz
For meditation using binaural beats, the most commonly recommended frequencies fall within the theta and alpha ranges. Here's why:
Theta waves (4 - 8 Hz): Are associated with deep relaxation, meditation, and light sleep. This state can enhance creativity and emotional connection.
Alpha waves (8 - 13 Hz): Are linked to a relaxed but alert state, often experienced during light meditation, daydreaming, or just before falling asleep.
For meditation purposes, you might want to try:
4-7 Hz (Theta): For deep meditation and potentially enhanced creativity
7-10 Hz (low Alpha): For relaxation and stress reduction
10-12 Hz (high Alpha): For a alert yet relaxed state, good for focus and concentration
The recommendation is to start with whatever feels most comfortable for you. Some people prefer to begin with alpha frequencies and then move to theta as they deepen their practice.
There is some research that suggests that you can achieve an alternate state of consciousness meditating while listening to binaural beats. This is essentially the premise of the Monroe Institute's hemi-sync technology that I discussed in my previous article.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Theta waves (4-8 Hz): Theta frequencies are often associated with deep relaxation, meditation, and enhanced creativity. They're linked to the hypnagogic state - the transitional period between wakefulness and sleep.
Low Alpha waves (8-10 Hz): The lower end of the alpha range is connected to relaxed alertness, light meditation, and "flow" states.
To potentially induce altered states:
A frequency around 6 Hz (in the theta range) is often recommended for deep meditation and possibly accessing altered states of consciousness.
Some practitioners suggest using a slightly higher frequency, around 7.83 Hz, which corresponds to the Schumann resonance (the Earth's electromagnetic frequency).
It's important to note:
Individual responses may vary. What works best can depend on the person and their current state.
The scientific evidence for binaural beats inducing specific brain states is mixed. While some studies show promising results, others are inconclusive.
Altered states through binaural beats, if achieved, are generally mild and safe. However, individuals with a history of seizures or certain mental health conditions should consult a healthcare provider before use.
The effectiveness often depends on the overall listening experience, including comfortable headphones, a quiet environment, and a relaxed mindset.
Read on to learn how to easily create your own custom binaural beats using free open source software. I'm going to walk through a basic example using the 7.83 Hz Schumann resonance range combined with the sound of ocean waves to create the track below.
